The Badlands
The Badlands sneaks up on you like a pie in the face; all of a sudden this otherworldly landscape just happens without a hint. The most often heard description heard is “I’ve never seen anything like this, it’s just incredible”. The guides at Ride and Fly Tours all say this is one of the best places to watch guests faces when they first see it. Motorcycle tours in this region are packed with wows. The Badlands comes by its name from a French explorer who discovered the area and gave it its very appropriate name.

Glacier National Park
Riding the “Going to the Sun Highway” leaves me at a loss for words. I cannot think of a superlative that does it justice. The ride is full of so many breathtaking vistas you start thinking that nothing can top this, till you go around the next bend. Pity the poor people in the cars! This ride is the defining ride when “the coolest ride stories” are told. Please book this motorcycle tour way ahead, as the season here is short, and it books up very quickly.

Idaho
Riding in Idaho is a mixture of mountain twisties, high desert, lake regions, and long passages next to beautiful rivers. All of these on a grand scale! The vast expanse of wilderness in Idaho is one of the most compelling reasons for coming here. The air is so clean and fresh that many people don’t recognize what they smell is clean air. There is also abundant wildlife here to keep you on your toes; you never know what you will see in the road moose, bear, elk and more. When planning a motorcycle tour in the west, ride and fly tours always recommends Idaho.

Mississippi River
Riding along the river always takes me back to the days of Mark Twain and steam powered paddle wheelers of days gone by. There is just a gentle calm feeling that goes with the river that all motorcycle tours should include. Whether you are down in the Louisiana delta region, going up past Vicksburg, or Wisconsin and north, there really isn’t a ride where you will stop more. You will pass through little river towns steeped in history, where the people see your license plate and come over to chat and tell you places not to miss. Ride and Fly Tours has motorcycle tours going all year round book your trip to the river and enjoy the slow and easy pace of the past.

Montana
Mention Montana to most and they will say “big”, and they aren’t kidding. Motorcycle tours here are full how amazing scenery that goes on for miles and miles. You can look off to the horizon and see a storm, and it will be on the same horizon for 75 or 100 miles. Speed laws are not closely enforced, it’s not that unusual to cruise at 90mph and be passed by a branch of law enforcement with as little as a glance. Of course we at Ride and Fly Tours do not endorse any violation of speed laws. This was just an illustration of what we have been told. I guess you should book a tour now and see for yourself.

New Hampshire
I admit that New Hampshire is one of my favorite places to tour on a motorcycle. There is a perfect mixture of quaint villages, postcard scenery and roads that must have been planned with motorcycle touring in mind. It’s one of those places that you go to and find yourself thinking “why don’t I live here?’ Autumn in this region is spectacular!

Niagra Falls
If this doesn’t knock your socks off, you probably forgot to put socks on today. The majestic power of the falls is an experience that you will never forget. The roar you can hear from blocks away and the mist that rises hundreds of feet above the fall grabs your imagination as you approach on your motorcycle. Your ride and fly tour guide knows a special way to take you to the falls that is sure to make you stop and dig for your camera.

New York State
When you say New York to most people they automatically think of New York City. Upstate New York offers some of the best mountain scenery and twisties you will ever find. So many great roads and small towns to explore makes it one of the premier places to take a motorcycle tour.

Oregon
Oregon is one of my top five places to motorcycle tour. Mountain riding around Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens is fantastic. Be sure not to miss the Pacific Coast Highway the Oregon portion is second to none! Oregon is best toured in July and August which are the driest months, otherwise bring good rain gear and be prepared to use it often.

|
Mt. Rushmore
The first sight of Mount Rushmore stirs many emotions, patriotism being the most often expressed. Seeing the faces of Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln carved into the side of this mountain is an incredible feat of engineering, determination and art. The best part is the ride getting to it is terrific. This place is a definite must see!

Toronto
You don’t go to Toronto for the riding experience, but instead because it is a very cool place to see on your motorcycle tour. Toronto is a very cosmopolitan city encompassing broad ethnic diversity that makes it just incredible to explore. Leave your motorcycle at the hotel, as in most mega cities parking is a premium. Take the subway or trolleys anywhere in the city. Make sure to allow more than a day, there is just so much to see!

Washington State
What a great place to take a motorcycle tour. Miles and miles of forests, incredible coastline, and oh yes those mountains oh ya. This is a place where you can get scenic overload. You get so used to seeing mile after mile of beautiful scenery, the fresh smell of the forest the relaxation factor is off the scale.

Welland Canal
The Welland Canal connects Lake Ontario with Lake Erie at St. Catherines Ontario. The pictures of this lock show this ship being raised 46Feet! ! Pretty cool thing to see.

|
Wyoming
Wyoming is one of those unique places that is either boring or spectacular and nothing in between. Predominately desert punctuated by some of the most spectacular vista to be found anywhere in the world. If they said you would have to ride a scooter through 150 miles of freezing rain to get to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, leave now so you can get there as soon as possible. It’s that cool!

|
Yellowstone National Park
The world’s first national park. So cool it needs its own adjective yellowstonie! Where else can you go and see giant geysers spewing boiling water hundreds of feet in the air and then drive down the road and have to stop to let a bear cross the road, isn’t that yellowstonie. It’s so much better on a bike than a car you fell so much a part of it all instead of in this little air conditioned compartment sealed off from it all. There is so much to see here allow extra time for your motorcycle tour passing through.
